Transformation at any stage of life
With a belief that personal growth and transformation are possible at any stage of life, Lisa Finch created the Avera Method—a wellness-centered business that empowers individuals to reconnect with their inner voice and live with greater authenticity, purpose, and ease.
Lisa’s background is rooted in holistic health, leadership development, and spiritual exploration. After years of coaching and guiding others, she developed a signature approach that blends mindfulness, emotional resilience, and self-discovery practices into a practical and deeply transformative experience. “The Avera Method is about coming home to yourself,” Lisa explains. “It’s about remembering who you are beneath the expectations, the stress, and the noise.”
As she refined her methodology and grew her following, Lisa realized she needed help formalizing her business operations, streamlining her offerings, and building a more scalable model. That’s when she reached out to the South Central Minnesota SBDC.
“The SBDC helped me translate my vision into a clear business structure,” she said. “They worked with me to clarify my brand, evaluate service models, and identify financial strategies that would support long-term sustainability.”
Tools of growth
Lisa partnered with SBDC consultants on everything from pricing to digital presence. With their guidance, she strengthened her backend systems and prepared for growth while staying grounded in her core mission.
Since working with the SBDC, the Avera Method has gained recognition across Minnesota and beyond. Lisa now offers one-on-one coaching, group programs, and retreats, reaching clients from diverse backgrounds who are seeking meaningful change in their personal and professional lives.
“The SBDC gave me the tools and encouragement I needed to take that next step,” she said. “Sometimes the most powerful thing is simply having someone believe in your idea and help you build it the right way.”

Change The Narrative
Lisa’s work is helping people break through fear, restore confidence, and shift old narratives. She sees her business not just as a service, but as a movement to empower people to lead from within.
To Lisa, being a small business owner in South Central Minnesota means anchoring her work in authenticity and community. “I love that I can do work that changes lives—and do it from right here in Minnesota.”
Looking ahead, Lisa plans to expand the Avera Method to include online courses, partnerships with employers, and collaborations with other wellness providers. With the SBDC’s continued support, she’s turning a deeply personal vision into a broad-reaching legacy.
